Project Scope

DESIGN, BUILD AND COMMISSION EXPANDED DEPOT FACILITIES

Our client, Transpennine Route Upgrade have a requirement to expand Holbeck maintenance depot to facilitate major upgrades at the Northern Trains operated Neville Hill train maintenance depot in Leeds. Scope is to increase Holbeck depot capacity to be able to cope with all Northern Trains DMU servicing requirements once the planned Neville Hill depot upgrade programme takes effect in 2026/7.

As a result, we have significantly increased Holbeck depots stabling, shed and service road capabilities and capacity.

Project Successes:

• Complex stakeholder management

• Large multi-disciplinary design project

• Implemented PACE systems/process

• High level of quality

• Strengthened client relationship

Client Feedback:

“Just a quick note to put into writing after I mentioned on the call (…) that I was in a meeting with ST, Depot Engineering Lead from Northern Trains and he mentioned how impressed he was with the way this design is being organised and facilitated, and that he and his operational colleagues took a lot from it.“
